Kindergarten Days

Oh where did the school year go?
Looking back to last August I thought this Kindergarten year
would last FOREVER, I suppose! I was so full of excitement for
Moriah. For the may adventures Kindergarten would bring her. It seems
like a fleeting moment though now. The first weeks turned into months,
then Christmas Break & after that we were old school pros! We flew through
January, February, March & April. Maybe we skipped a month or so
in there! It sure seemed so! We have so much to love about this year!
Kindergarten is one of those years that both Mommy's
& their children cherish forever.

There's a Light at the End of this Tunnel!

Wanting to give a speedy shout to say 13 days to...
     - me waking at 6 am
     - somehow managing to get 3 kiddos  dressed & fed & out the door
       (and happy by 7:25)
     - pushing two little ones down the Ashton path to kiss my big girl
       goodbye for 6 hrs
     - dropping Maddy off at Preschool
     - running from one end of SRQ to the next doing what I love to do!
coffee with friends, errands, playgrounds with G.... and many other
        activities
      - Back into the mom van to pick up Maddy and Joshy
      - come home and scarf lunch just in time to hop back into the van
      - geesh! is it really time to pick up my Missy already???! whahoo!
      - and given the day we have many extra curricular  activities we have
managed to plug into our hectic schedule,
        because we love them all!
       - Can't let the kids go hungry so we  head home for dinner ,
           family laughs  and baths, HOMEWORK!
           yes!  even in kindergarten!
-and finally, sigh! bed time! ( yes, even for one tired mommy!)

I am so amazed at  the year we have  lived, survived, loved and
now get a serious break from!

Thanking God for giving me  HIS strength & HIS grace to  get by ~
         day to day!

Can't wait to share many summer adventures or  leisures we will
         enjoy!

Flower Girls!

And now announcing Kelly's Flower Girls!

What could be more fun than a day shopping with the Bride-to-be!
Especially if you are 2 lucky Flower Girls!
We met Kelly in Tampa to try on  pretty dresses , Look no further!
Our first stop happened to be the place that had the exact gowns we
hoped for! These girls, were twirling and prancing and giggling while
admiring themselves in the mirrors! Begging us "Please buy them!"
It's a sure good thing that their aunt- the Bride happened to love the very
dress they were swooned over! Not that I have not been excited...
It has been a topic we speak of often in our home since the engagement!
But to spend the day in wedding land, brought it that much closer!
we also shopped International Plaza (without excuse),
ate lunch and went to the Bridal store to look for  Bridesmaid dresses.
Because there were many very appealing dresses,  we will be making
yet another dress shopping day to finalize  which one!
with that I will leave a to be continued until further wedding details!
We had such a fun day with you Kel!

Beth Moore 2010 !

The anticipation I felt prior to our fun girls weekend, paled in comparison to how our  getaway actually played out !!  I   was looking forward to escaping  my kids for this short time  and the duties that go along with.  From the time we got to Tampa to the time we left  was  so brief  but we had a BLAST!
These girls I now call my " sistas" are great! Jenny , Jen, Michelle,  Candace and Teresa . We have much in common. Marriages, children, routines and   choas. Between all of us, we left behind 18 children! Is that not funny?!  The 6 wonderful husbands / daddys were  so gracious to let us go away.
Fri night at Idlewild Baptist was phenominal! Travis Cottrell and his worship team were so amazing. Awesome music! and Beth was funny and so personable and  the opening lesson got us fired up for the Sat session  on Family.
We could not pass on  a late night ( midnight) snack at the Cheesecake Factory.... I believe it was the only place open!

I realized how very thankful I am to have the family I have~ In large, my immediate relations but also  the family I have in Christ.  For so many reasons: fulfillment, depth of relationship, community, accountability, & conflict .

and.... thru laughing our cheeks off and  tears, the highlight of our trip had to be when we met Beth Moore herself!!!

Three Birds of Different Feathers!

I had always heard that having multiple children in one family~ they would all be different---
Ha ha ha! But boy is that an understatement! I happen to have three wonderful children, and they could not be ANY different if they tried!!!  Truthfully, I dig that!
So let me give you  my grouse:
First I have Miss Peacock ! In all her entirety, she is extremely unique! such a fanciful creature that Moriah she is really So smart and witty, always been very precocious. She is almost finished with Kindergarten. What a fun year! We basically had our preschool class transplant into the same k class! and the year has flown by! She loves school, never has complained one single day. Loves the work and the socializing!
I have opened her backpack up not once, but twice to find her true love written on paper about " John"!!
Moving on! she has also joined the kids choir at church and loves her Thursday dance class!
Next is my Pink Flamingo little Maddy. That girl, she really is very flamingo like now come to think of it! she has long skinny legs! that  is the only thing on her that grows !!! She  is sweet and giggly. Loves going to preschool 3 days a week and thanks to" Miss Peacock",  she knows her alphabet and is  moving on to writing words as big sister dictates the letters! So crazy!  Her cousin Josh is her true sidekick, they are great buddies! Dont know what either of them will do without each other next year in preschool. Maddy also is a ballerina . She makes a great center to my kids as she plays 6 yr old when big sis is around and I have noticed she can also become very 2 yr oldish to befriend her  favorite little Brother! Maddy would give you the shirt off her back. She is so giving!
And then comes well, what shall we call Garrett ? How about Mr. Turkey! Of course!  He is really quite funny. and cute. He did not listen when I told him to say small . He is already  one and a half!!!  I am thrilled to have my little boy! Everything he does is so Boyish- to the max! Here I worried about teaching him how to be a boy, nu-uh! loves trucks, airplanes, buses and is the best of car riders since we live in the car. Literally! He sure loves his sisters and is Daddy's biggest fan!  I really love it when he decides to slow down for 0.3 seconds to  come give me a love pat. I know he's mommy's boy too!
so there you have it. You stick these three together and it becomes  similar to a loud squaky bird cage at the zoo!   Perhaps my next post we will define what types of birds daddy and mommy  are!

"Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a place for herself where she may
have her young- a place near your alter, O Lord almighty, my king and my God. "
                                   Psalm 84:3

The New Kid on The Blog

So here I am! Navigating around this place called Blog spot! and I have an odd  sense of de ja' vu...
The same complete and utter  embarrassing ignorance I had when I decided to jump aboard  " My Space"!
and when I  comformed to a" Facebook" junkie!  Let's face the facts... I'M CLUELESS!!!! but, if  you bear with me, I will get it. All in due time my friends.
Not only did I realize, once again, I am not with it in the world of  cyber space; I realized that  time continues on and I am making no attempts whatsoever at recording  life's  events. ( I gave up scrapbooking some time ago).  Maybe in my day to day grind, if I stop and  regurgitate my day's happenings I will not feel the overwhelming  craziness that each day  actually brings.  After all, My life is great. My family is invaluable and I have a God  who loves me inspite of my serious imperfections!
Enjoy the  many  moments I hope to record of my evergrowing family~ Time just does not slow down!
